  1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry for the Rango Whack and Win Competition. Entry into the Competition is deemed to constitute acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Entry is open to Australian residents only. Any entrant under the age of 18 years must obtain prior permission from a parent or legal guardian over the age of 18 years to enter this Competition. If a winner is under 18 years of age the prize will be awarded to the winner's parent or legal guardian. If the major prize winner is under 18 years of age, they must be accompanied to Sydney by a parent or legal guardian.
  3. The Promoter is General Mills Australia Pty Ltd and Paramount Pictures. Employees of the Promoter (and their immediate families), participating retailers and agencies associated with this competition are ineligible to enter.
  4. The Competition commences at 9:00am on 7 March 2011 and closes at 23:59pm on 1 May 2011 ("Entry Period"). At all times, the time is Australian Eastern Time, being Standard or Daylight Savings Time.
  5. HOW TO ENTER: To participate in the Competition, Eligible Entrants must, during the Entry Period follow these steps:
    1) First purchase a participating Old El Paso™ Tortilla product marked with the promotion sticker from a participating store;
    2) Log on to www.rangowhackandwin.com.au;
    3) Enter a valid seven (7) digit unique promotional code located on the on-pack promotion sticker (only valid codes will be accepted in order to proceed to the next step);
    4) Participate in the online Rango game - Whack the Piñata; and
    5) Complete the online entry form including, but not limited to your full name, address, phone number, email address and age. Valid entries received during the Entry Period will be entered into that day's daily draw and major draw.
  6. Multiple entries are permitted with a limit of five (5) entries per day per household. Only one (1) entry per qualifying purchase is permitted. Each entry must be submitted separately and in accordance with the entry requirements. Entrants must retain their original receipt and on-pack sticker as proof of a valid purchase during the Entry Period. Failure to produce the receipt and sticker for every entry made when requested may, in the absolute discretion of the Promoter, result in invalidation of ALL of a participant's entries and forfeits any right to a prize.
  7. Entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time the entry is recorded in the Competition database and not at the time of online transmission. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, incomplete or misdirected entries or correspondence.
  8. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries submitted by that entrant invalid.
  9. PRIZE POOL:
    Major Prize - There is one (1) major prize only. The first valid entry drawn will win the major prize of the Rango Golden Piñata which is valued at $20,000.00.
    A presentation will take place in Sydney to award the winner with the Rango Golden Piñata. Where the winner resides outside of Sydney, the winner will also receive:
    - Return flights to Sydney and airport transfers for two (2); and
    - Two (2) nights twin share accommodation at a 5 star hotel valued at up to $5,000.00.
    Major prize pool is valued at up to $25,000.00.
    Daily prize pool - the first valid entry drawn daily will receive one (1) of the following prizes:. A random generated draw will determine the daily prize awarded.
    Daily prize pool:
    - 8 x Wii® consoles and Rango games pack valued at $299.00 each
    - 30 x Rango games valued at $119.00 each
    - 25 x Rango hammocks valued at $50.00 each
    - 8 x Rango water coolers valued at $20.00 each
    Total Daily prize pool is valued at $7,372.00.
    - Daily prizes are limited to one (1) prize per household (with the exception of SA residents who are entitled to win more than one prize). A random generated draw will determine the daily prize awarded.
    - Entrants found to be submitting multiple names and or residential addresses other than their own will be automatically disqualified. The TOTAL PRIZE POOL is valued at $32,372.00.
  10. All prize values are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST.
  11. The value of each prize is accurate as at the commencement of the Competition. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prizes after this date.
  12. THE DRAW: All draws will take place at eSUS Communication, 30 Aberfeldy Close, Charlestown NSW 2290. The major draw and remaining daily prizes will take place at 10:30am 2 May 2011. The first (1) valid entry drawn at random will be deemed the major prize winner. The major winner will be notified in writing and by phone within 7 days of the draw. The major winner will be published in The Australian newspaper on 12 May 2011. Judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Daily draws will commence at 11:00am 8 March 2011. Daily draws will include valid entries received from the previous day only. Entries will not roll over into the following daily draw. The final daily draw will take place at 11:00am 2 May 2011. Daily winners will be confirmed by mail and email and details will be published online at www.rangowhackandwin.com.au on 12 May 2011.
  13. All prizes will be managed and distributed by the Promoter and associated agencies.
  14. If a daily prize or the major prize remains unclaimed on 2 August 2011 at 12pm, a second chance draw will be held at eSUS Communication 30 Aberfeldy Close Charlestown NSW 2290 at 1pm on 2 August 2011, subject to any written directions given under applicable law. The second chance draw will take place in the same manner as the original Draw. The Winner will be contacted by phone and mail and published in The Australian on the 8 August 2011.
  15. It is a condition of accepting a prize that the Winner must comply with all the terms and conditions of use of a prize and the prize supplier's requirements, including any conditions of entry to the relevant venue for the event.
  16. The Winner (and their companion) must travel together on the same flights and stay at the same property at the destination and share a room.
  17. Unless expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions, all other expenses become the responsibility of the Winner. The Winner (and their companion) are responsible for all incidental expenses including travel to and from departure point to the airport. Any fees associated with any amendments (including name changes), cancellations and additions to the initial booking (where authorised) are at the Winner's expense.
  18. Flight schedules are subject to change without notice. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination.
  19. Should an entrant's contact details change during the Competition Entry Period, it is the entrant's responsibility to notify the Promoter as soon as practicable.
  20. The Promoter reserves the right to request each Winner to provide proof of age, identity and residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter.
  21. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, or submits an entry which is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoters discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  22. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from acceptance of the prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought prior to entering the Promotion.
  23. The major and daily prize pool must be taken as offered and cannot be varied unless authorised by the Promoter. Prizes are not transferable. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value. If a prize or part of it is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value subject to any written directions from the various Lotteries Departments.
  24. The Promoter and its associated agencies, and companies associated with this Promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.
  25. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for technical difficulties with the entry mechanism and does not warrant that the entry mechanism will be available at all times.
  26. The Winner accepts the prize at their own risk. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of or in connection with this Competition if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter including without limitation technical malfunctions or failures.
  27. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this Competition. Use of such information will be in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. To facilitate your participation, the Promoter may disclose your personal information to other companies associated with this Competition. By entering this Competition unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use this information in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes (including advising you of special sales, specific promotional events and other special offers) without any further reference, payment, or other compensation to the entrant including, sending the Entrant electronic messages. Entrants' personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners' names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter at their address set out below.
  28. Entrants agree to participate and co-operate with the Promoter as required in all editorial and promotional activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed for the purpose of promoting this Competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter for an unlimited period of time without remuneration. The Winner also agrees to grant to the Promoter a perpetual and exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the Winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
  29. The Winner may be required to execute a Deed of Acknowledgement, Release and Indemnity in a form prescribed by the Promoter, at the Promoters discretion.
  30. If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) technical failures, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter isreserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and (subject to any written directions given by the various Lotteries Departments), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition.
  31. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it's determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the activity and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to State and Territory regulations.
